Greenville – James “Sawdust” Mayes, 78, of Greenville died Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his residence in Greenville. Born November 19, 1943 in Muhlenberg County, he was a retired truck driver and mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father Clifford Mayes, mother Anna Kimmell (Mayes).
Survivors inlude his wife, Cynthia (Piper) Mayes; son, Brian Piper; daughters, Ashley Richardson, Janet Moore, and Judy Mayes; sister, Dorothy Brooks.
