James Lloyd Meredith, 88, of McKinney, TX passed away on Wednesday, May, 6, 2026 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. He was born on December 23, 1937 in Leitchfield, KY, he was the son of the late Robert Meredith and Sarah Vencint, and raised by the late Earl Meredith and Flossie Meredith of Central City, KY. James honorably served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam. He was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, but his greatest passion was for the Kentucky Wildcats. He enjoyed his coffee, listening to Elvis, and stayed active well into his 80s by riding his bike and playing chair volleyball. An avid softball player, he was happiest when he was on the field. All above he was a father, and a proud and devoted “Papa”.
As per his request, there will be no funeral service. He will be cremated a Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, TX and his ashes will be spread in his hometown of Central City, KY.
He is survived by her three sons:
- Michael Meredith and wife Kristi Meredith of McKinney, Texas,
- Scott Meredith of Greenville, Kentucky
- Jason Meredith of Denison, Texas
and four grandchildren:
- Tessa Meredith and fiancée Sean Nolan of Dallas, Texas
- William Meredith of McKinney, Texas
- Jaylen Meredith of Denison, Texas
- Janae Meredith of Denison, Texas
