GREENVILLE – James Edward Embry, age 87, of Greenville, died Friday, May 31, 2024 at Hillside Center in Madisonville. Born in Muhlenberg County June 29, 1936 and was a member of the Church of God. He was retired from Super Value as a packer. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including gardening and hunting; loved being around his grandchildren and watching Kentucky basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Embry; daughter, Karen Leach and parents, Ernest and Lucy Embry.
Survivors include his son, Kevin (Sarah) Embry of Greenville; brothers, Louis (Marilyn) Embry of Madisonville and Frankie (Sherry) Embry of Beechmont; sister, sister, Brenda (Bob) Hodges of Hartford and Lorie Beliles of Central City; grandchildren, Alex Embry, Justin Embry, Scott Lucas, Nick and Autumm Leach; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for James will be Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home with Bro. Louis Embry officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Tucker Funeral Home has been entrusted with Mr. Embry’s care.
