Central City – James Douglas Whanger, 76, of Central City went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Baptist Health Madisonville Hospital. Those that knew James knew he had a great passion for ole model cars, most specially Fords. To say he was truly a 100% Ford supporter would be an understatement. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Katie Whanger, brothers Albert and Thomas Whanger, and sisters Christina Dennison and Nola Pierce.
Survivors include his brother John Whanger; sisters, Wyona Hines, Jane (Ronnie) Campfield, Rose Quisenberry, and Barbara (David) Stewart and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
A private family memorial service will be held at Richardson Chapel Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. His great-nephew Josh Beatty will be conducting the service.
