GREENVILLE – James Anthony Hester, 54, of Greenville, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 8:29 p.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born July 6, 1970 in Daviess County. He was a member of Nelson Creek Missionary Baptist Church and he retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. He enjoyed watching basketball, wrestling, playing pool, playing with his grandkids, and the Military. He was preceded in death by his father, James Marion Hester; mother, Theresa Daugherty; sister, Amy Daugherty; and granddaughter, Savannah Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Tabitha Michelle Hester; sons, James Matthew (Ashlin) Hester, and Anthony Lee Hester; daughter, Amelia Marie (Justin) Garrett; five sisters, Cathy (Mark) Arnold, Merri (Dennis) Walker, Michealle (Terry) Peveler, Amanda (Eugene) Gallion, and Kelly Hester; two brothers, Andrew (Amy) Daugherty, and Jimmy (Tammi) Hester; stepsister, Donna Hester; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 15, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Kevin Rice officiating. Burial in Hanson Cemetery.
