James Adam Johnson of Greenville, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 in Owensboro, KY following a short illness. Born November 12, 1960 in Muhlenberg County, the son of Lloyd Johnson and Bertha Dukes Sigers. He retired from Road Builders and was co-owner and operator of Buck’s Asphalt and Paving. JJ enjoyed riding Harleys, spending time at truck shows, but mostly loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Lynn Johnson. JJ loved his dogs, and was preceded by two of his faithful companions, Scooter and Chewy.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, by Reverend Darren Pentecost, with burial to follow in Emberry Cemetery.
Survivors include One son, Adam “Buck” (Amanda) Johnson of Greenville; one daughter, Brandy (Jeremy) Greenwood of Greenville; five Grandchildren, Haylee Rice, Camden Greenwood, Jennifer West, Sadie Johnson and Jase Johnson; two great- grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd “Junior” Johnson of Ebenezer and the mother of his children, Vickie Johnson .
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, and after 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.garysfuneralhome.net
