GREENVILLE – Jackie Ray “Jack” Dwyer, 78, of Greenville, died Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Greenville June 18, 1946, the son of Rayburn Jack Dwyer and Sudie Mae Fuller Dwyer. He was a supervisor in several coal mines across the United States. He trained and raced quarter horses and enjoyed trading horses and trailers. As a member of the United States Navy, he served in the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by parents and two sisters Clara Sue Welborn and Anne Dwyer.
Graveside services were held Sunday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Leigh Dwyer Family Cemetery in Greenville, with Bro. Jake Dwyer officiating. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Dwyer of Greenville; three sons, Jackie Dwyer, Jr., Tim Dwyer and Scott Chalk; three daughters, Kristin Dwyer, Shelby (Bobby) Campbell and Ashley Dwyer;11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Don Dwyer and Mike Dwyer; one sister, Betty Carver.
