POWDERLY – Jackie Donald Brown, 86, of Powderly, died Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2:50 a.m. at Hospice of Western KY in Owensboro. Born July 12, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired Mechanic, and a member of Woodson Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Opal Brown; brother-in-law, Larry Wood; and sister, Yvonne Wood.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Spears Brown; sons Donnie (Leighanne) Brown, and Tracy (Michelle) Brown; grandchildren Karah Brown, Derek (Megan) Brown, and Drew Brown; great-grandchild Layla Brown; and sisters Myrna Tatum, Linda (Ron) Welborn, Debbie (Bob) Vick, and Vanessa (Billy) Hayes.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
