GREENVILLE— Hubert Ray Jessup, 89, of Greenville died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born in Depoy March 7, 1935, the son of George Jessup and Bertha Williams Jessup. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran who worked in communications. He loved being an entrepreneur and owned several businesses. He sold and retired from owning Landshire Food Systems of Indiana after 23 years in 1989. He was a gentleman farmer and enjoyed having coffee with his friends. He loved spending time with his grandkids and giving them his worldly advice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Doris Jessup Jarvis and Hilda Jessup Culbertson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Dr. John Galyen officiating. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery in Greenville.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joyce D. Jessup of Greenville; two daughters, Laura Jessup (Doug) Stroud of Greenville, Mona Jessup (Scott) Zeyen of Rochester, Ind.; two grandchildren, Audrey Zeyen (Alex) Carpenter and Matthew (Laura) Zeyen; two sisters, Betty Jessup (Al) Jowder of Greenville, Georgann Jessup (Joe) Lookofsky of Mayfield.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at Gary’s Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, August 22 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral.
