Browder – Homer Ray (Dig It) Stevenson, Jr. 72, of Browder passed away, Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. Born July 1, 1950, in Nashville, Tenn. and raised in Huntsville, Ala. He retired from TVA as an Assistant Unit Operator maintaining equipment quality and efficiency. Homer served our country proudly, during his military career in the United States Armed Forces as an Aircraft Mechanic in his dedicated branch of service the Air Force. He was of the Baptist Faith, loved Alabama Football “ Roll Tide”, a member of the Black Knights Motorcycle Club, and a lover of outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Annie Bell Singletary- Stevenson; one brother, Clifton Stevenson; three sisters, Shirley Garcia, Maebel Christian and Ella Mae Waugh.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Janice Hernandez-Stevenson of Browder; daughters, Brittney Hernandez- Stevenson of Greenville, and Shikara Hernandez-Stevenson of Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Nevaeh Drake of Greenville; brothers, Chris (Carolyn) Stevenson of Birmingham, Ala., David (Tiffany) Stevenson of Dallas, Texas and Darrell (Regina) Stevenson of White House, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, Charlie Christian of Nashville, Tenn; host of several adored nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 15, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 209 Oak Street, in Greenville with the Rev. Reginald Elliott, Eulogist
