CENTRAL CITY – Guadalupe Wood, 82, of Central City, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:20 a.m. at Ahava Rehab Center in Clarksville. Born November 29, 1942, in Juarez, Mexico, she was a devoted member of Martwick Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of Kroger in Powderly. She found joy in cooking and flower gardening, which brought beauty and warmth to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Jerry L. Wood, who passed away in 2011.
Survivors include her three sons: Stevie Wood of Central City, now residing in Lebanon, Tenn.; Bobby (Kayla) Wood of Lebanon, Tenn. and Kenny (Sarah) Wood of Drakesboro.
She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Austin Wood of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Ashley Wood of Ashland City, Tenn., Jordan Wood of Louisville and Jackson Wood of Drakesboro. Her legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren: Amelia and Jasper Wood of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Grayson Wood and Michael Smartt of Lebanon, Tenn. and Tatum and Tinsley Wood of Ashland City, Tenn.
Guadalupe was the daughter of the late Juan Landeros and Ana Maria Duarte of Juarez, Mexico, and stepmother of the late Micaela Ortiz. She was preceded in death by her siblings: brothers Roberto Landeros of Madera, Mexico, and Juan Landeros Jr. of Las Vegas; sister Maria Luisa Hodel of Germany; and sister Catalina Ochoa of California.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Martwick Missionary Baptist Church in Central City with Pastor Todd King officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Guadalupe requested that donations be made to Martwick Missionary Baptist Church. Contributions will be used to support the ministry and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ—her final and enduring wish.
