BEECH CREEK – Glenn Rex Gill, 92, of Beech Creek, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 4:30 a.m. under the care of Western Kentucky Veterans Center. Born September 29, 1931, in Beech Creek. He worked at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as a foreman. He was a U. S. Army Veteran where he served in the Korean War. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Hazel Creek Masonic Lodge. Mr. Gill was an avid fan of high school and University of Kentucky basketball. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and daily walks on his property.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Durall Gill; daughter, Tammie Talkington; son-in-law, Phil Talkington; son-in-law, Harold Joines; his parents, Ott and Elva Carver Gill; brothers, David Gill, Forrest “Buddy” Gill, James Edward “Jay” Gill, and Paul Hugh Gill; and sisters, Lillian Brokaw, Patty Luckett, and Dorothy Whitney.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Gill Joines of Coulterville, Ill..; two grandchildren; sisters, Jo Mauzy and Kay Kamuf; two great-grandchildren; many beloved friends and family and special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Bro. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial in Hazel Creek Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
