Glenn Houston Settlemires, age 70 of Pleasant View, Tenn., passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Born September 6, 1950 in Greenville, to the late Howard and Delores Settlemires. He was retired with over 30 years as an explosive engineer. He served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and was very funny and loved to tell jokes. He never met a stranger, loved to ride his motorcycle, enjoyed yardwork and live music. Glenn loved the beach and ocean and was always traveling somewhere on vacation and attended the Pleasant View United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ida Settlemires; son, Matt Settlemires; daughter, Gina (Jessica) Jordan; grandchildren, Jamie Jordan, Johanna Jordan, Jeorjia Jordan, Jonas Jordan; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Monday, April 5th at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Paul Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow in the Resthaven Mausoleum in Clarksville. Michael Stamps, Jeremy Perry, Brandon Riley, Joseph Eubanks, Josh Greene, and Albert Cartner will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or Pleasant View United Methodist Church, 2621 Main St., Pleasant View, TN 37146.
