GREENVILLE – Geraldine Fortney, 94, of Greenville, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 3:35 p.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born April 5, 1929 in Muhlenberg Co., she was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and a Homemaker. She was a Naval wife for twenty-two years, and she enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Fortney; and sisters Norma Doss and Thelma Cox.
Survivors include her three children Tony (Diane) Fortney, Mark (Debbie) Fortney, and Sandy (Dwight) Pendley, all of Central City; grandchildren Chad Pendley, Troy Pendley, Andrea Pendley, Julie (Jonathan) Pendley, Katie (John) Ballance, Joe Fortney, Ryanne (Dave) Kurzen, Jacob (Brianne) Fortney, and Jillian (Andy) Southard; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Homes in Central City with Rev. Scott Casebier officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
