ORMOND BEACH, Fla. Gerald Ray Scott, 81, of Ormond Beach, Fla., previously of Madisonville, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Paradise Pointe Assisted Living in Ormond Beach.
Born May 9, 1943, in Graham, to the late Hayes Scott and Angelyn Hill Scott.
Gerald worked in the coal mines and was Manager of Fugate Lumber Co. in Madisonville. He was a realtor for Adams Cameron Realty in Daytona Beach. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville and a faithful attendee of the Drive In Christ Church in Daytona Beach until his illness became too much for him to attend.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Norma Fugate Scott; his sister, Wanda (Fred) Gossett of Madisonville; and brother, Vernon (Teresa) Scott of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 7, 2024, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. David Jackson officiating. Burial will take place at Grapevine Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Coleman, Wyatt Coleman, Will Jerome, Andy Jerome, David Gossett, and Josh Gossett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grapevine Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
