Gene Thomas “Tom” Jones, 90, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. Born May 10, 1933 in Muhlenberg, the son of Clyde Jones and Bernie Gregory Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed walking, being outdoors, and he was a farmer all of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Cheryl Jenkins, one sister Betty Wilson, and one brother Rollie Jones.
Survivors include one daughter Debbie (Brian) Houser of Smyrna, Tenn.; one son Scott Jones of Greenville; one sister June DeArmond of Greenville; one brother Wayne Jones of Owensboro; Ex-Wife Sue Jones of Greenville; eight grandchildren Christy (Chris) Dukes, Whitney Carlock, Caleb (Nikki) Jones, Morgan (Brodie) Fitzhugh, Carson (Samantha) Jenkins, Grayson (Heidi) Jenkins, Desirae Houser, Daniel Houser, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
