Gary Woodward, 64, of Franklin, Ky., passed away Saturday, November 28th, 2020 at the Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Born April 21st, 1956 in Russellville, KY to the late Marcus Leon Woodward and Marion Woods Woodward. He was a 1974 graduate of Auburn High School in Auburn, Ky and a 1993 graduate of Madisonville Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Gary was the Head Nurse in the ICU unit at Ascenion Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin, Ky. Gary was an avid golfer. He loved playing golf with his friends. He was a drummer and loved playing his music. He was referred to by family and friends as G-Daddy, GareBear, POD Dad, Woody and Money Man. Gary loved his Calvary Baptist Church family and he loved his POD Nurses’. He loved his family very much.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Jacqueline Hall Woodward; daughters, Jennifer Woodward (Kevin) Smith) of Bowling Green, Ashlea Woodward (Cole) Johnstone of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Lindsey Woodward (Tony) Sila of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Justus Smith, Maxwell Smith, Fisher Sila, Addison Johnstone, Esther Sila and Emmett Johnstone; sisters, Donna (Charlie) Campney of The Villages, Fla. and Karen Towe of Auburn and brother, Jay (Tammy) Woodward of Auburn; father-in-law and mother-in-Law, Steve and Geraldine Hall of Auburn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Tom Emberton of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, Ky. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church, 804 Church Street, Franklin, Ky. from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ***Masks will be required and social distancing will be requiredinside***. A private family funeral will be held at Pearce Memorial United Methodist Church, 411 West Main Street, Auburn, KY 42206. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are to be made to St. Thomas Health Foundation, 4220 Harding Rd.
