Freddie Jewell Vincent, 80, of Graham, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at his residence under the care of HPC of Western Kentucky. Born June 8, 1943 in Muhlenberg County, the son of William Bryant Vincent and Opal Tyson Vincent. He was a Vietnam war veteran serving in the US Navy and stationed on the USS Bennington from 1964 until 1968. He was a UMWA coal miner, he loved traveling, hiking, racing, and kayaking, and he was also an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 48 years Christa Sue Vincent, and four brothers Ray Vincent, Roy Vincent, Eddie Vincent, and Bill Vincent.
Survivors include his son Samuel (Michelle) Vincent of Central City; his daughter Olivia (Sean) Proctor of Fairview, Tenn.; two grandsons Morgan Dukes Vincent of Greenville, and Austin Shane Vincent of Central City; three brothers Henry Paul Vincent of Graham, John (Virginia) Vincent of Greenville, and Steve (Donna) Vincent of Graham; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 29 at 1:00 p.m. with Br. Barry Noe officiating, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Yeargins Chapel Cemetery in Graham. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home and on Friday, December 29 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral.
