BEECHMONT – Ernest Ray Scarbrough, 77, of Beechmont, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born August 4, 1946, in Logan County, he did farm work, was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Mines, and drove a semi over the road and locally. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Scarbrough and Lona Forgy Scarbrough; mother of his children, Carolyn Scarbrough; brothers, RB Scarbrough, James Scarbrough, Elwood Scarbrough, Kenneth Scarbrough, and Billy Scarbrough; and sisters, Francis Cobb, Nadine Bivins, and Mary Howard.
Survivors include his children, Debbie (Michael) Harris of Greenville, Brad (Jennifer) Scarbrough of Central City, and Chad (Quin’Dee) Scarbrough of Central City; granddaughter, Michaela Harris of Greenville; one great-grandchild; brother, Bobby (Guyana) Scarbrough of Greenville; sisters, Effie (Jerry) Sears of Clifty and Ruby Burns of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
