Erlene Armstrong Jones, 88, of Rosewood died Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born December 24, 1934 in Rosewood, the daughter of Edgar Armstrong and LaRue Cisney Armstrong. She was a homemaker, then began working at Rockwell Manufacturing in Russellville. But her main career was wallpapering and painting for many fine people for 30 years. In later life, she began working as a caregiver for people. She was a member of Rosewood Community Church, loved fellowshipping with her friends, and adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Rollie Jones, her daughter Donna Gill, and her granddaughter Rebecca Howard.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (Cary) Whitney of Greenville, Phyllis (Mike) Jones of Ocala, Fla. and Regina (Mike) Kovach of Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Mary Sue Motes; sister-in-law, June DeArmond; brothers-in-law, Tom Jones and Wayne Jones.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, with Bro. Dwayne Dowell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier School House Cemetery in Rosewood. Visitation will be Sunday, July 2 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. time of funeral.
