Emily Dawn Geary, 44 of Athens, Ala. passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at Crestwood Hospital. Born August 16, 1979, in Muhlenberg County, to Bobby Lloyd Oldham and Juanita Lear Oldham. She was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Oldham. Mrs. Geary graduated from Madisonville Community College in 2002, Murray State University in 2005, and Birmingham School of Law in 2014. She was a member of the Alabama State Bar and owned her own practice. She was involved with Relay for Life from 2010-2019.
Survivors include her husband Brian Christopher Geary; siblings Tommy Melton (Debbie), of Graham, Teresa Schroader (Bill), of Hartford, Anita Carter (Larry), Glasgow, Lois Ford (Eli) of Bruceton, Tenn., Robbie Melton (Kelly), of Greenville, Jack Melton (Leslie), of Bremen, and Bobbie Oldham (Robin), of Bremen, and so many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens, Ala. with Dr. Joseph Geary and Greg Patrick officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Ward, Kevin Opp, Rob Taymon, Andy Whitt, Tim Hargrave, and Jeff Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Russell Hill Cancer Foundation, Blackburn Church, or Cherry Hill Baptist Church.
