LEWISBURG—Drexel Latham, 83, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, October 26, 2025 at his residence. Born in Rosewood, June 21, 1942, the son of Vernon Ben Latham and Gladys Evelyn Garrett. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and retired from TVA in 2004. He had also worked for L.A. Johnson Trucking. He loved being on the lake and his University of Kentucky basketball Wildcats. He also enjoyed watching softball and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Doyle Marion, Elvis, Doris, and Bennie, and sisters Velma Dukes and DeWeese Steele, and a grandson Brendan Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville conducted by Pastor Shane Garrett. Burial will follow in Rosewood Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Nina Jane Harper Latham of Lewisburg; one daughter, Cynthia Lynne West of Greenville; three sons, Lyndon Keith (Sherry) Latham of Greenville, Bradley Wade (Rebecca Anne) Latham of Greenville, Darren Laine Latham of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Renee (Adam) Richards, Justin Wade Latham, Leah Beth (Sam) Lastra, Jordan Bradley Latham, Matthew Myers, Joshua Caleb Latham; six great grandchildren, Kayleigh Ann Richards, Kyler Richards, Codi Wood, Mya Latham, Brentley Lastra, Cooper Lastra.
Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30 until time of funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Gary’s Home in Greenville.
