CENTRAL CITY – Dorris Ray Kirtley, 96, of Central City, died Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 1:15 a.m. at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. Born June 23, 1929, in Muhlenberg County. He worked at BF Goodrich and was a member of Green River Chapel General Baptist church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Kirtley loved Kentucky basketball, playing dominoes, gardening, and church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Maggie Kirtley of Paradise; mother of his children, Macel Kirtley; wife, Margie Kirtley; daughter, Bonita Warren; sister, Mary (Lester) Jernigan; brothers, Howard Kirtley, James (Lura) Kirtley, and Wilbur (June) Kirtley; step-daughters, Judy Stewart and Theresa Eskins; and grandson, Dewaine Humphrey.
Survivors include his daughter, Doris Jean Sheehan of Beaver Dam; grandson, Steven Humphrey; step-daughter, Rose (Greg) Smith of Calhoun; step-sons, Randy (Donna) Johnson and Jerry (Debbie) Johnson, both of Henderson; and son-in-law, Mitch Eskins of Central City.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Larry Shadowen officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
