Mrs. Dorothy Ruth Boyd, 89, of Greenville and formerly of Elkton, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 4:15 p.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Long Term Care in Greenville. Born February 25, 1934 in Trigg County, Ky., she was retired from Flynn Enterprises and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie Atkins Taylor, her husband, J.W. “Jake” Boyd, her brothers, Milt, Moscoe, Melvin, Howard and Lewis Taylor, her sisters, Huel Askew, Bessie Edmonds, Ruby May and Maggie Taylor
Survivors include her son, Larry Boyd of Hopkinsville; daughter, Carolyn Boyd of Greenville, and a grandson.
Services will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home with Elder Daniel Laster officiating. Burial will follow in the Stokes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Latham Funeral Home and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time for the funeral.
