LOUISBURG, Kans. – Dorothy Lee Everly, 86, of Louisburg, Kand., died Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Rock Creek Care Home in Ottawa, Kand. Born January 9, 1938 in Harrisburg, Ill.. She was a member of Light House Baptist Church and retired as an Administrative Assistant for Mo. Pac. Railroad. She loved her family, her sorority sisters at the Methodist church, her church family, and her cats and dogs. She also enjoyed her sweets, especially her homemade pies. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays for family gatherings and Christmas was another favorite for all the decorations. It was not uncommon for her to decorate multiple Christmas trees in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darris “Dee” Everly, and her parents, Henry and Gladys Winkleman.
Survivors include her sons, David Martin of Fulton, Mo., Michael Martin of Louisburg, Kans., and Lynn Everly of Louisburg, Kans.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and step-children, Mark Everly, Doug Everly, and Stephanie Gonzalez.
Graveside services were held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central City with Rev. Nick Forsythe officiating and Rev. Mike Graber assisting. Burial followed.
