RUSSELLVILLE – Doris Jean Byars, 86, of Russellville, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab. Born November 12, 1934, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Her fondest memories were of her seven children, all of whom she adored. She loved to watch the interaction, the kidding, and love that her adult children shared with one another. Doris was very proud of all of her family, including her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Rutherford; second husband Bernard R. Byars; son Jeff Rutherford;; grandson Jamie Steele; and parents Delbert and Ethel Chumley.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna (Butch) Joines of Beech Creek, Diane Rutherford of Russellville, and Gina (Terry) Snodgrass of Central City; sons Rev. Steve (Diane) Rutherford of Nortonville, Mark (Cindy) Rutherford of Belton, and Robin (Beth) Rutherford of Russellville; sister Patty Chumley; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Steve Rutherford officiating, assisted by Rev. Calvin Naylor.
