GREENVILLE – Donald Steven Moore, 68, of Greenville, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at his home after a lengthy illness. Born June 14, 1952, in Greenville. He worked for Ensign Bickford for many years, he also worked at Community Oxygen, at Sunrise Coal Company until it’s closure and at Advent Coal Co. He then spent his later years at Jones Trucking. He was a member of North Main Church of Christ. He was gifted with the ability to do anything and loved doing honey-do jobs for his loving and dedicated wife of 48 ½ years. He was a dedicated Corvette enthusiast and owned several over the years. He enjoyed his wife’s job teaching pre-school children, never having had children of their own. They loved and adopted each child into their hearts and home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Moore and Hattie Strader Moore and grandparents Earl and Catherine Strader, and Elmer and Nunie Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sampson Moore; sister Donna (Boyd) Mathis and several nieces and nephews that meant everything to him.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Charlie Jones officiating, assisted by Bro. Bobby Gardner. Burial will follow in Graham Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to wear a face covering, in accordance with the governor’s mandate. Capacity will be limited to comply with current state guidelines.
