CENTRAL CITY- Donald Franklin Gish was born in Gishton to parents Marshall and Willie Gish. Don enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling life of 86 years. He was deeply loved, generous, funny and lots of fun to be around. Don was the foundation of his family. Surrounded by his children, Michelle, Cheri and Shane, Don passed peacefully at Owensboro Regional Hospital on 9-29-2023. His role as husband for over 50 years to Vrylena Robinson Gish, beloved father and loving grandfather and great grandfather were his highest accomplishments. Don loved and was proud of his family. Don was a devoted deacon for over 60 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bremen. He was retired from Brown Badgett Enterprises, where he was a faithful employee for more than 40 years. Don loved old movies, reading and spending time with his girls.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Michelle Gish and Cheri (Shane) Fogle; five grandsons, Halston, Adam (Courtney), Cole (Emily), Cooper, and Lexx; great grandson, Tucker; a host of nieces and nephews and his sister, Martha Oliver.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen. Online condolences can be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
