Dolly Gish Plain

   SACRAMENTO – Dolly Gish Plain, 93, of Sacramento went to her eternal reward Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind..

     On a cold winter morning in Muhlenberg County, Dolly was born to Finn and Dorothy Ham Gish on December 14, 1931 in Gishton, Ky.

Dolly attended elementary school and high school in Bremen,  she extended her education in Bowling Green Business college.

     Dolly met the love of her life, Bill Plain Sr. in Sacramento, where they lived for 54 wonderful years.  Within those wonderful years, they had three children: Bill Jr., Lisa, and Mark.  She loved cooking, sewing, and baking.

    Dolly was very active in her community by teaching children at school. She was also a faithful member at Station Baptist Church for many years where she served as a children’s Sunday School teacher.   She was a leader in the PTA, where she demonstrated her love to all children.

        Survivors include her children: Bill (Kim) Plain, Mark (Gwendal) Plain and Lisa (Tim) Crawley; grandchildren: Ashley Hayden, Whitney Plain, Hillary Simmons, Alecia Crawley, Joshua Plain, Wesley Vaughn and Cole Vaughn.  Dolly was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Blayne Turner, Millie Hayden, Elsie Hayden, Rudy Hayden, Addilyn Simmons, Perry Simmons, Collins Simmons, and Sam Elliot Vaughn.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Bro. Mike Rust officiating. Burial in Station Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and after 8 a.m. until the start of the funeral on Tuesday. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
