GREENVILLE – Delma Ann Payton, 77, of Greenville, died Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 3:25 a.m. at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation in Greenville. Born in Greenville October 30, 1947. She was a member of Landmark Assembly of God Church and retired from Belle Meade Nursing Home. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, was an avid fan of Westerns, any movie with Patrick Swayze and WWE Wrestling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ollie Lear; brother, Darrell Wayne Lear; grandchild, Alex Ray Groves; and husband, Vernon Payton.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Groves; sons, James Sweeney, and Dalton Sweeney; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Landmark Assembly of God Church with Bro. Larry Hancock officiating. Burial in Landmark Assembly of God Cemetery.
