OWENSBORO – Deborah Crick Hendrix, 75, of Owensboro, went to be with Jesus Monday, January 19th, 2026, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia. Born October 4, 1950, to David and Wanda Crick in Greenville. She was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. Debbie was best known for her beautiful blue eyes, decorating talents, love of babies and animals, and for the love she gave her family.
Debbie was a Summa Cum Laude Graduate of Brescia and WKU, where she earned both a Master’s and Rank 1 degree in education. She began her teaching career at Beaver Dam Elementary and retired from College View Middle School. Although Debbie loved being a wife, mother, and educator, her most cherished title was that of “Gan.”
Debbie married the love of her life, David, August 8, 1970. They shared 55 years making wonderful memories, and spent their last day together gently swaying to the music of The Righteous Brothers.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Crick, and in-laws Marvin and Thelma Hendrix. \
Survivors include her soulmate of 55 years, David Hendrix. Daughter Tamara Williams; three cherished grandsons; sister Melissa Street; In-laws Michael and Ruth Hendrix, Sherry Brown, Theresa Martin, Tim and Kathy Hendrix, and Cynthia and John Kaszkur. Special Best Friends Wayne and Lynn Milligan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
