GREENVILLE—David Winn, 72, of Greenville died on Friday, February 23, 2024 at his residence. Born in Greenville, on September 22, 1951, the son of B. J. Winn and Martha Nell Fitzhugh Winn. He was of the Baptist faith and was a UMWA coal miner. He retired from Ray Jones Trucking. He loved working on cars, especially his ’36 Coupe, and drag racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Stephen Michael Winn, and his father-in-law Delbert Chandler.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. J. W. Haire, assisted by Rev. Charlie Jones. Burial will follow in Olive Grove Cemetery in Greenville.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years—-Sharon Chandler Winn of Greenville, KY;
a sister—–Cindy (Jim) Yocum of Birmingham, AL;
mother-in-law—-Cora Mae Chandler of Greenville, KY;
a niece——Kristi (Wayne) Lipson of Memphis, TN;
a nephew——Brooks (Audra) Beeckman of Henderson, KY;
five great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26 from 10:00 a,n, until time of funeral at 2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home.
