DRAKESBORO – David Earl Thomas, 62, of Drakesboro, died Sunday, July 3, 2022, at his home. Born September 9, 1959, in Whitley County, Ky. He was a retired truck driver and member of Revival House Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Thomas, Jr.; and mother, Frankie Lee Trosper Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Gibson Thomas; sons, Jessie Joe (Melissa) Thomas of Pendergrass, Ga., David Waylon (Courtney) Thomas of Statham, Ga., Thomas Slusher of Hyden, Ky., and Charles (Brooke) Gibson of Dickson, Tenn.; daughters, Reagan Olivia Thomas of Drakesboro, Lauren (Ashley) Buxton of Milan, Tenn., and Erica Gibson of Milan, Tenn.; sisters, Melissa (Michael) Gray, Peggy Sue Storms, and Kathy (Troy) Thomas, all of Woodbine, Ky.; and grandchildren, Jackson Thomas, Arabella Gibson, Avery Gibson, Everly Gibson, Presley Buxton, Jamison Buxton, Ellie Buxton, Julia Hut, Caroline Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders, Aria Hernandez, Lilly Hernandez, Eli Hernandez, and Cassidy Jones.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Enoch Rich officiating, assisted by Rev. Joshua Rich and Ashley Buxton. Burial will follow in West Drake Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
