NEBO – David Earl Brewer, 82, of Nebo, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 8:50 a.m. at his residence. Born July 31, 1942, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired underground coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co., and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Brewer loved to ride horses, he also enjoyed camping and cross-country trail rides in Eminence, Mo., and later in life he enjoyed camping in Nebo. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his wife of 57 years, Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Brewer; mother, Melvie Brewer; and brothers and sister, William Howard Brewer, Harold Brewer, Walter Brewer, Peggy Ann Goad, Paul Brewer, and Bobby Brewer.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Christmas Brewer; sons, James Brewer and Jimmy Brewer; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Brewer, Jimmy Brewer, and Jackie Brewer; and sisters, Betty Johnson and Freda (Lindell) Toomey.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Dr. Garry Hill officiating. Burial in Horton’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
