LEXINGTON, Ky. – Constance “Connie” May Meriwether, 74, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on March 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Born in Milford, Massachusetts, Connie was the cherished daughter of Wilfrid “Bill” and Carmen “Minin” Winter. She was welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved husband, William “Walt” Meriwether, and siblings , Marjorie “Margie” Herald and David Winter.
Connie devoted over 20 years to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher, touching the hearts and lives of countless students who will remember her kindness and passion for education. A proud graduate of Greenville High School (Class of 1969) and Western Kentucky University, Connie always held a special place in her heart for learning and nurturing others.
She is survived by her loving children, Jennifer King (Morgan) and Chris Meriwether (Mallary), as well as her precious grandchildren, Shelby King and Callen and Paxton Meriwether, who brought immense joy to her life. Connie also leaves behind her sister, Dianne “Winny” Jernigan (David), a large extended family and numerous lifelong friends who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
In her free time, Connie delighted in drawing, knitting, and nurturing her garden, all activities that showcased her creativity and love for life. Most of all, she treasured moments spent with her family, embracing each gathering with warmth and laughter. Connie’s vibrant spirit and selfless devotion to her loved ones will always be remembered and cherished.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held in her honor on April 11th from 12pm-2pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2pm at Clark Legacy Center 601 E Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY.
