CENTRAL CITY – Claire Caudill, 83, of Central City, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 10:09 a.m. at her residence. Born August 16, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Caudill was a U.S. Navy veteran. She was a nurse while serving in the Navy, and was an LPN, working at hospitals and nursing homes all over Sonoma County, California. Mrs. Caudill met her first and only husband, James, at Treasure Island Naval Base in San Francisco while serving in the Navy.
She loved bike riding, walking her dog Maddie, and going to church. She went on several cruises to different places all over the world. She also saw many different places while serving in the Navy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Smith; father, Dallas Smith; brother, Conrad Smith; and sister, Eileen Anderson.
Survivors include her her only son Jason Caudill of Central City; her grandson Drexel Caudill of Central City; her granddaughter Samantha Claire Caudill of Greenville; nephew Marc Martinie of Concord, Calif.; nephew Steven Smith of Calif.; niece Amy Smith of Calif.; great-nephew Christopher Martinie of Calif.; great-niece Elizabeth Martinie of Calif.; and step-grandchildren Harley Rone, Braylen Rone, and Azlynn Rone, all of Greenville, and Ethan DeArmond and Toniann Vincent, both of Central City.
