GREENVILLE — Charles Wayne Loney, 84, of Greenville, KY died Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Charlie was born in the Depoy Community on September 13th, 1941, to Leslie Givens Loney and Margaret Roberts Loney. He attended school at Graham, and after graduation in 1959 he spent the next four years in Oxnard, California serving in the United States Air Force as an Airman 2nd class. He then returned home to Greenville and began working at the TVA Paradise Fossil Plant, receiving many commendations for his work as an electrician during his 32-year career there. During this time, he married his wife Ann and they had their only child, daughter Leslie. After his retirement in 1994, he continued to enjoy his hobbies of playing chess, playing pool, fishing, and of course – eating!
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Rondal Loney and James Darrell Loney, and two sisters Abigail Loney and Gaynell Loney.
Survivors include is wife of 53 years, Ann Harper Loney, daughter Leslie Loney, two sisters-in-law and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Gary’s Funeral Home followed by burial at New Cypress Baptist Church cemetery.
