CENTRAL CITY – Brent Allen Roberson, 55, of Central City, died Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 7:04 a.m. at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born May 21, 1970, in Muhlenberg County. He retired as Police Chief with Central City Police Department, and was a member of Green River Chapel Church. Brent enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and Kentucky Wildcats. He loved spending time with his family and adored his son. He enjoyed family vacations and loved life. His police family was beloved to him. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and golf friends, and pulling pranks with them. In addition to serving as Police Chief, he mentored kids while working as a School Resource Officer at Central City Elementary School. He also worked for Central Dispatch and Central City Fire Department at an early age. Brent was a thoughtful, caring, and selfless person with a servant’s heart, and was admired for his leadership abilities. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon and Lorene Richardson.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Shaver Roberson; son, Ryker Roberson; sister, Kim (Ryan) Schiefelbein; mother, Faye Roberson; father, Claude (Martha) Roberson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Barry and Deborah Shaver; nephews, Lucas Schiefelbein and Noah Schiefelbein; aunts and uncles, Jeff and Mae Richardson, and Jeff and Beverly Mayes; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Larry Shadowen officiating, assisted by Ricky King. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
