Providence – Brenda Calvert, 72, of Providence, died Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:02 a.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Born October 21, 1952 in Muhlenberg. She was a home maker, and she was of the Baptist faith. She was an incredible florist, and would always gift the family with the beautiful arrangements she made. She was also one of the top female welders in the state of Kentucky, and met her husband in trade school. She adored her grandchildren, and loved her cats, Bella, Gracie, and BoBo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Francis McKie.
Survivors include her darling husband, Jeffery Calvert; sons, Kristopher Scott Mayes, Walter Kevin, William Matthew Buchanan; daughter, Valerie Lee Hood;eight grandchildren; brother, Robert Bandy; sister, Peggy McKie; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
