Bonita Joy Stewart

GREENVILLE – Bonita Joy Stewart, 79, of Greenville, went home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

She was born on January 29, 1947 to the late T.J. and Sybil Parham. She was a 1965 graduate of Greenville High School.

Bonita was a devoted wife and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life to God and her family. She was a constant support system through her love and dedication for everyone. As a faithful Christian and prayer warrior, she covered her family and friends in her daily prayers. She deeply believed in the power of prayer and her salvation. Her family and friends always felt her love and prayers. Bonita’s beautiful blue eyes and smile always brightened your day.

She was a dedicated pastor’s wife and taught younger children in Sunday School and served the church in Muhlenberg and Butler County. Bonita was a member of Rockport Missionary Baptist Church.

Bonita was an amazing cook and hosted big family dinners on every holiday, as well as, cooking for church potlucks. She enjoyed having a yard full of flowers and plants. Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. She was their biggest cheerleader and the best Mamaw.

Bonita worked for many years at Holt’s clothing store in Greenville and then for Oak Tree Eye Clinic in Central City. She knew her customers by name and enjoyed talking to and helping them find just the right outfit, shoes, and glasses.
