BREMEN – Bobby Coleman Markwell, 84, of Bremen, died Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born October 29, 1937, in Muhlenberg County, he was a retired coal miner for Amax Coal Co. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching UK basketball. He was a member of the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department and the CB Club. He gave his heart to the Lord on April 28, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Markwell; parents, Estill Markwell and Edna (Frank) McCoy; and brothers, Kenneth Markwell and Justin McCoy.
Survivors include his children, Terri (Rick) Sallee, Robby (Sandra Johnson) Markwell, and Davin (Greshin) Markwell; grandchildren, Meagan Sallee, Seth Markwell, Cole Steele, and Kristin Wells; and sisters, Carolyn Tapp and Gloria Penrod.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial will follow in Gish Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
