SACRAMENTO – Billy Ray McDowell, 87, of Sacramento, died Friday, February 2, 2024 at his residence. Born November 6, 1936 in Muhlenberg County, he was a retired Coal Miner Fire Boss at Peabody Coal Company and a veteran of the US Army. He was also a member of Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Lou McDowell and parents, Ray and Virginia McDowell.
Survivors include his son Kevin McDowell; daughter Amy Revlett; sister Carolyn Sue McDowell; two grandkids; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Brother Kevin Brantley officiating.
