GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. – Billy Darrell Stevens Sr., 67, of Gibson County Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville IN. He was born in Todd County on June 9th, 1958, the son of Cecil Stevens and Odeleen Lennie McGehee Stevens. He was a UMWA coal miner, where he worked as both a mechanic and electrician, and later retired from Toyota Indiana. He was of the Baptist Faith and lived his life with a servant’s heart, always willing to help anyone in need. He was truly a jack of all trades and was known as the family’s mechanic. Gifted with his hands, he could fix just about anything – whether working on vehicles, remodeling homes, or tackling electrical projects. His talents were unmatched, but even more memorable was how freely he shared them with others. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, outgoing personality, and the joy he brought into every room. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, always including them in everything he did – especially on vacations. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool and cheering on Kentucky basketball.
Above all, he will be remembered as a loving family man, a hardworking provider, and someone who made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Randall Stevens, Norman Stevens, Dorris Stevens, and Bernis Stevens.
