BOWLING GREEN – Beverly L. Bailey, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:45 a.m. surrounded by family at her residence. Born in Scottsville (Allen County), November 21, 1940. In her early years, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City and after marriage, First Christian Church in Central City and Greenville. After relocating to Beaufort, S.C., she attended Waters Edge United Methodist Church. Beverly married Byron, her high school sweetheart in 1958. She attended Mary Anna’s Cosmetology School in Madisonville and was a Cosmetologist for 36 years. She co-owned and later owned Greenville Beauty Salon, as well as worked at Razor’s Edge. She had a strong faith throughout her life and was active in church teaching Sunday school and leading little people’s church. Beverly was a Girl Scout Leader, and a lifelong member of Kirkwood Lake. She loved to spend time with family and friends, she was an amazing cook, loved fishing, bible study, going to the beach with friends, gardening/flowers, travel, and her fur-babies through the years. Beverly was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend of many. She never met a stranger and was selfless in her generosity and love. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron B. Bailey; Father, Chalma B Wade, Mother, Viola P. Wade, siblings, Barbara Boyd, Joann Carver, Patty Brewer, Brenda Wade, and Byron K. Wade.

Survivors include her daughter, Sabrina Shay Bailey; siblings Lenda K Burns, Mary Lou Wade, Chalma Junior Wade, Vivian L Miller (Mike); 31 nieces and nephews. 

Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Visitation between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the same day at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Central City. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donating to American Stroke Association, Barren River Hosparus of Bowling Green, or St Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be made at .
