LOUISVILLE- Betty Jean Hughes, 83, originally of Central City, died Friday, January 17, 2025 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. Born in Muhlenberg County on August 31, 1941. She was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church and a retired operator for Bell South, a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. She loved her kids, doing arts and crafts, reading, and cross word puzzles. She was an excellent cook and was very involved in all activities that her children were a part of. She loved to watch Matt Dillon and Gunsmoke. Mrs. Hughes is preceded in death by her spouse, Tony Hughes; parents, George and Victoria Dickinson; brothers, Ray Segers, James Segers, Junior Segers, Walter Dickinson, and Roscoe Dickinson.
Survivors include her sons, Anthony “Tony” Wayne Vick of Louisville, Robert Edward Vick of Suwanee, Ga., Kenneth Howard Hughes of Sacramento; sister, Sissy Pentecost; brother, Buddy Dickinson; one grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025 beginning at 10:00a.m. at the funeral home.
