CENTRAL CITY – Berta J. Devine, 84, of Central City, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at 5:48 a.m. at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Born November 2, 1939 in Hanson, she was a retired BellSouth HR Manager. When her grandson couldn’t pronounce her name properly, he started calling her “Mogger”. From then on she was known as “Mogger” to all those close to her. She enjoyed tennis, snow skiing, travelling, and in her older age golf cart rides with her granddaughter. She also loved animals and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Garnette Johnson.
Survivors include her husband Larry Devine; daughter Jan Palmer; grandchildren John Palmer (Jenna Brashear), and Katie Palmer; great-grandchildren Cormac Palmer; and brother Jerry (Becky) Johnson.
There will be visitation on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
