EVANSVILLE- Benton Almon Legate, 92, of Evansville died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at his home. Born July 7, 1930 in Muhlenberg County. He was a painter for Whirlpool in Evansville, a member of United General Baptist Church in Evansville, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Reatha Harper; brother, Mitch Legate; son, Ray Gene Legate.
Survivors include his son, Benton L. Legate of Evansville; daughter, Theresa Robertson of Evansville; two grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Christy of North Carolina, Dean Nance of Mississippi, Laquita Blair of Louisville, Janis Everheart of Central City; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Raymond Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
