GREENVILLE- Barbara Ruth Evitts, 83, of Greenville died Friday, October 15, 2021 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 15, 1938 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Duvall’s Chapel General Baptist Church. She loved working with kids at her church (Bible school, Christmas plays), playing the piano and teaching Sunday school. She loved every member of her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. Ms. Evitts was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Evitts; son, Danny Evitts; parents, Irvin and Eula Welborn; sisters, Blanche Williams, Margaret Wells, and Rosalee Kinkade.
Survivors include her children, Mike (The late Diane) Evitts of Greenville, Kevin (Sonya) Evitts of Evansville, Ind., Scotty (Naomi) Evitts of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Margie Evitts of Greenville; grandchildren, Alan (Jessica) Evitts, TeAnnah (Luke) Widdrington, Beth (Brian) Martin, Josh (Jena) Evitts, Rachel Evitts, Rebekah (Richard) Putman; great grandchildren, Daniel (Denise), Dillan, Dustin, Devin, Obadiah, Addie, Ethan, David, Josie, Chloee, Zoee, Tyler and Emery; great-great grandchild, Dalton; brother, Wendell Welborn of Powderly; sisters, Winnie Bruce and Eulene “Tookey” Welborn both of Central City; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery.
