Barbara Nell Perry Carney

LOUISVILLE – Barbara Nell Perry Carney was born March 1, 1949 and returned to her heavenly Father on February 18, 2022 with her family by her side. She was a member of Highview Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Fincastle Chapter and Daughters of the Union.  She served on the board of Trustees for New Hebron Hunt Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar, Sr. and Marietta Perry; brother, Oscar Perry, Jr.; and parents-in-law, Clyde, Jr. and Virginia Carney.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jerry Carney; children, Shannon (Will) Halfhill, Joshua Carney and Jacob (Lindsay) Carney; grandchildren, Trevor and Madison Gonzalez, Caroline Halfhill, and Noah, Bennett and Brooklynn Carney; sister, Wanetta (Byron) Ellis; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, 536 Bradford Street in Beechmont, burial will follow in New Haven Hunt Cemetery, Penrod. Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST) at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.  Additional visitation begins Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (CST) at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home.
