POWDERLY – Barbara Marie Majors, 91, of Powderly, died Monday, March 22, 2021, at her daughter’s residence in Dawson Springs. Born February 23, 1930, in Hammond, Ind., to Lyle Francis Hartlerode and Mary Dorothy Peternac Hartlerode. She was a fitting room clerk at Wal-Mart, and was of the Christian faith. Barbara was part of a large family and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was so proud of her eight children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Earl Majors; son Richard Ignas and sister Janice Bleckiner.
Survivors include her children, Walter Ignas, Larry (Altie) Majors, Ann Ignas, Kathy Roe, Janet Barnes, Timothy Ignas, and Joan Crick; grandchildren Rachel, Valerie, Steffany, Brandon, Brian, Billy, Vanessa, Brian, Kristen, Joshua, and Samantha; several great-grandchildren and several nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens, with Mr. Paul Moore officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Family and friends are asked to wear a face covering, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
